Over the years, the club has grown from a small community-based team into one of Uganda's competitive women's handball clubs.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>The journey has been characterized by dedication, resilience, teamwork, and commitment to developing female athletes both on and off the court.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div><br><\/div><div>CHAPTER 1: THE FOUNDATION (2016)<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Kyengeza Women's Handball Club was founded in 2016.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>The pioneer team was largely composed of students from Mengo Polytechnic Institute in Nansana.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>The founding leadership included:<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>President<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Sauda Babirye<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Club Manager<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Mukose Baker<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Founding Head Coach<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Edwetu Simon Peter<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>First Team Captain<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Tusiime Ronnet&nbsp;<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>The club joined Uganda's competitive handball structure and began participating in national competitions under the Uganda Handball Federation.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>CHAPTER 2: THE EARLY YEARS (2016\u20132017)<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>The first generation of players came primarily from Mengo Polytechnic Institute.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>During this period, the club focused on:<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Building a competitive squad<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Introducing players to national-level competition<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Establishing a culture of discipline and teamwork<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Promoting women's participation in handball<\/div><div><br><\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Coach Edwetu Simon Peter laid the foundation for the club's playing philosophy and development structure.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div><br><\/div><div>CHAPTER 3: THE MBOGO HIGH SCHOOL ERA (2018\u20132019)<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Between 2018 and 2019, the club experienced significant growth through the recruitment of players from Mbogo High School.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Head Coach<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Isma Bazanye<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Coach Isma Bazanye guided the club during this period and helped strengthen the team's competitiveness.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>The addition of Mbogo High School players expanded the talent pool and contributed to the continued development of the club.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>CHAPTER 4: THE COVID-19 CHALLENGE (2020)<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Like many sports organizations around the world, Kyengeza Women's Handball Club was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>The pandemic disrupted:<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Training sessions<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Competitions<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Player recruitment<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Team development activities<\/div><div><br><\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Despite these challenges, the club remained active and prepared for a return to competition.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div><br><\/div><div><br><\/div><div>CHAPTER 5: REBUILDING THE HIVE (2021)<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Following the COVID-19 period, the club entered a rebuilding phase.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>New players were mobilized from:<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Kibuli<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Mulago<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Uganda Allied Institute of Health and Management Sciences (UAIHMS)<\/div><div><br><\/div><div><br><\/div><div>This rebuilding exercise helped restore competitiveness and strengthen the club's future.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div><br><\/div><div>CHAPTER 6: THE KIBULI ERA (2022\u2013PRESENT)<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>In 2022, the club established a strong player development pathway through Kibuli Secondary School.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>This partnership has continued to provide talented young players to the club and has become an important pillar of team development.<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Current Coaching Team<\/div><div><br><\/div><div>Head
