FOREWORD
Kyengeza Women's Handball Club, popularly known as The Bees, was established in 2016 with the vision of empowering girls and young women through handball. Over the years, the club has grown from a small community-based team into one of Uganda's competitive women's handball clubs.
The journey has been characterized by dedication, resilience, teamwork, and commitment to developing female athletes both on and off the court.
CHAPTER 1: THE FOUNDATION (2016)
Kyengeza Women's Handball Club was founded in 2016.
The pioneer team was largely composed of students from Mengo Polytechnic Institute in Nansana.

The club joined Uganda's competitive handball structure and began participating in national competitions under the Uganda Handball Federation.
CHAPTER 2: THE EARLY YEARS (2016–2017)
The first generation of players came primarily from Mengo Polytechnic Institute.
During this period, the club focused on:
Building a competitive squad
Introducing players to national-level competition
Establishing a culture of discipline and teamwork
Promoting women's participation in handball
Coach Edwetu Simon Peter laid the foundation for the club's playing philosophy and development structure.
CHAPTER 3: THE MBOGO HIGH SCHOOL ERA (2018–2019)
Between 2018 and 2019, the club experienced significant growth through the recruitment of players from Mbogo High School.

Isma Bazanye
Coach Isma Bazanye guided the club during this period and helped strengthen the team's competitiveness.
The addition of Mbogo High School players expanded the talent pool and contributed to the continued development of the club.
CHAPTER 4: THE COVID-19 CHALLENGE (2020)
Like many sports organizations around the world, Kyengeza Women's Handball Club was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pandemic disrupted:
Training sessions
Competitions
Player recruitment
Team development activities
Despite these challenges, the club remained active and prepared for a return to competition.
CHAPTER 5: REBUILDING THE HIVE (2021)
Following the COVID-19 period, the club entered a rebuilding phase.
New players were mobilized from:
Kibuli
Mulago
Uganda Allied Institute of Health and Management Sciences (UAIHMS)
This rebuilding exercise helped restore competitiveness and strengthen the club's future.
CHAPTER 6: THE KIBULI ERA (2022–PRESENT)
In 2022, the club established a strong player development pathway through Kibuli Secondary School.
This partnership has continued to provide talented young players to the club and has become an important pillar of team development.
